Sir William loved his Island and he loved to have it photographed. The Van Horne fonds at the Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa contains thousands of photographs relating to the Van Hornes. During my visit there I was surprised to find that a very large proportion of these photographs are of Minister's Island. I tried to put in a representative selection in my book but limitations of space precluded more than a relatively small selection. I intend to post some individual collections on this page in the near future. For the time being, I include an album by Michael Lombard, an architecture student in the seventies during the Norman Langdon period of ownership. For a student of architecture a summer job on Minister's Island must have been a fascinating experience, however decayed the Island was from its original splendour.
